AE12+ and AE21: Low-cost, sustainable, for large components

New: PMMA materials (acrylic glass) available from Binder Jetting

From now on you can find in the Jellypipe Store the PMMA materials AE12+ and AE21, processed with the binder jetting technology.

The Plexiglas 3D printing materials are a good complement to comparable plastics from SLS, MJF or SAF and are particularly suitable for very large components: The maximum build space for additive manufacturing technology binder jetting for plastics is 850 x 450 x 480 mm. In addition, depending on the geometry and the number of pieces ordered, the components are less expensive than comparable plastics from the other technologies.

The sustainability of polymethyl methacrylates (acrylics) deserves special mention - 100% of the unused powder can be reused after printing.

The main properties of the materials:

PMMA AE21PMMA AE12+
  • High level of detail
  • Dense surface (porosity < 1%)
  • No thermal distortion
  • Good mechanical properties
  • High level of detail
  • Excellent edge sharpness
  • No thermal distortion
  • Color: bright, consistent white

Post-processing methods available for the 3D printed PMMA materials

The 3D printing Plexiglas components are powder blasted and glass bead blasted after printing (standard). The following post-processing methods are available upon request:

  • Painting
  • Coloring
  • Chemical smoothing (surface quality)

What can the 3D printing Plexiglas materials be used for?

The materials are suitable for a wide range of applications:

PMMA AE21PMMA AE12+
  • For large components (installation space 850 x 450 x 470 mm)
  • High geometrical freedom, as no support structures are required
  • Prototyping
  • Test gauge and precoating construction
  • Special machine construction
  • For mechanical components and housings
  • Components are translucent with low wall thickness and suitable for applications with illuminants
  • For large components (installation space 850 x 450 x 470 mm)
  • High geometrical freedom, as no support structures are required
  • Architectural and trade show models (high detail accuracy)
